an easy 140 mile drive from the San
Francisco, Bay Area, stunning
granite boulders of the Tuolumne
River showcase the blue-green waters
of this Wild and Scenic river.
The Tuolumne River is a Class IV-V

escalating intensity. Clear and
cool, the Tuolumne thunders and
plunges through a grand succession
of boulder gardens and spectacular
cascades, moving in patterns that
are frolicsome, tangled and
mesmerizing. The Tuolumne River is
one of California's finest and white

after year.
Staircase rapids, chutes, and pools
by the score make the Tuolumne the
ultimate river adventure, a thrill
ride for all including the action
packed Tuolumne Classic and North
America's most challenging white
water rafting run, Cherry Creek.
Between Meral's Pool and Ward's
Ferry bridge, no roads or other
signs of present-day civilization
penetrate the Tuolumne River canyon.
The place is an Eden of pristine
beaches and campsites rich in gold
rush and Miwok Indian history
featuring not-to-be-missed
side-canyon water slides and
swimming holes. Scan for of bald
eagle, river otter, and ring-tailed
cat. On our Classic run, raft rapids
including Sunderland's Chute,
