Barrow

At the top of the continent, the midnight sun stays above the ice pack horizon for 82 days. This Inupiat Eskimo and whaling community is a mix of modern, urban buildings and traditional Eskimo homes. 60% of Barrow residents are Eskimo; the Inuibat Heritage Center offers a nice glimpse of regional history and culture. Fly in from Fairbanks (on Alaska Airlines only) to tour the village and enjoy traditional dance, song and crafts.
