Legend Launches Palm-OS Pam 168

Legend Group has recently launched Palm OS handheld. The Legend
Pam 168 features a color screen, MP3 player, dictionary and voice
recorder. The Legend Pam 168 has a 3.5", 240 x 320 pixel screen that
can display over 65,000 colors. It has a "virtual graffiti" area
which can be hidden to allow full screen photos and ebooks.

The processor is a Motorola SuperVZ 66MHz. It has 16MB of storage
RAM and 16MB Flash ROM. It also includes a SD/MMC memory card
expansion slot and jog-dial for on screen scrolling.
It is powered by a rechargeable 810mAh Lithium-Ion battery. The
battery life is rated to last through 20 hours of MP3 playing with
the screen off. The unit includes headphones with built in volume
controls.
Its dimension are (L)120mm x (W)74mm x (D)12.5mm (4.72 x 2.9 x .5
inches) and it weights 125g (4.4 oz).
It runs Palm OS 4.1 and users can choose between Simplified Chinese
or an English language display. In addition to the standard palm os
apps, additional software includes an Infra-red messaging app,
e-book reader, electronic photo album, calculator, mail and a
Chinese - English Dictionary.
PalmSource's operating system would power more than half of Legend's
handheld computers within a year, said Legend Vice-President Lu Yan
in a previous statement. Market researcher International Data Corp
has forecast China's PDA market will grow 52 percent next year. The
Pam 168 is priced at US$338.
