CTIA 2003- Palm powered WRIST PDA watch
By William | Reporter Date: 03/21/2003
Fossil's WRIST PDA watch is the first truly wearable Palm Powered
device that provides consumers convenient access to information
while on-the-go, in a sleek and compact form factor. The WRIST PDA
is fully compatible with the Palm OS platform and will run all Palm
OS applications.

According to Fossil, this device will run Palm OS 4.1 on a 33MHz
Motorola Dragonball VZ processor. It has 2 MB of RAM and 2 MB of
ROM. Pre-loaded applications including: Address Book, Date Book,
Memo Pad, Calculator and To Do List.
The size of the screen is unclear at this point. Fossil says it will
be 160 by 160 pixels but images of the prototype don't seem to show
a screen that large. The device might support a virtual 160 by 160
screen. The touch screen is backlit and can display 16 shades of
gray. It includes a stylus integrated into the band for Graffiti
input and a rocker switch.
“We are delighted that a company so widely known for its innovation
and design leadership has selected JotComplete to provide owners of
the WRIST PDA the most simple and natural interaction possible,”
said Guido DiGregorio, CIC's Chairman & CEO. “Targeted for domestic
and international distribution, Fossil has constructed a user
interface convention with a feature set that we believe will be met
with instant acceptance and usability worldwide.”
Fossil has licensed the Palm OS and will release a Palm-powered
watch called the WRIST PDA with Palm OS. Fossil is expected to have
the new watches in stores by mid-2003.
