ACT! for Palm OS 2.0 Review

Best Software announced the availability of ACT! 2006.
Designed for new users and users upgrading from previous versions of
ACT!, the new ACT! 2006 is a bundle that includes inline
updates to ACT! 2006, ACT! Link for Palm and ACT! Link for Pocket PC.
In addition to handheld synchronization software, ACT! 2006
contains the many new features introduced with ACT! 2006, including:
- New ACT! e-mail client featuring the ability to send and receive
HTML e-mails.
- Enhanced Outlook Integration and support for Lotus Notes, Eudora
and other SMTP/POP3 e-mail.
- Active Libraries so users can directly attach Microsoft
Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint/ MapPoint documents, Adobe Acrobat documents
(PDF), JPG files and BMP files to the contact record and view them
from within that contact record, without launching a separate
application.
- Contact Activity Look-ups to mine data and discover which
customers they have contacted recently, as well as which ones have
not been contacted in a specified time frame.
- Annual Event Tracking to specify any date fields in the database
as an annual event to manage birthdays, anniversaries, and policy
renewals with a simple annual event look-up.
- Enhanced Internet Services to view websites within ACT! using the
built-in Internet Browser and attach relevant Web pages to one or
more contacts.
- HTML E-mail Templates for everything from birthdays to
e-newsletters to order confirmations.

Track multiple phone
numbers, business information, personal
information, alternate contacts, results
from your last meetings, user fields, and
more. Tap any item in the menu and instantly
see those contact fields in the top panel or
full screen.
In the bottom panel, choose
Notes to store searchable date- and
time-stamped notes for each contact. |

Click Histories to view
complete contact histories that are created
automatically for all completed activities.

In the Activities view,
you’ll see every call, meeting or to-do
associated with each contact.

Tap Sales/Opps to manage

and edit each contact’s Group memberships.

Find contact and activity details instantly

Click on the ACT! Lookup
magnifying glass to search on company, first
name, last name, phone, ID/status, or other
fields, including, e-mail, city, state, and
zip.

Enter a letter or the first
few letters of what youe searching for and
click OK.

Then, instantly see the
corresponding Contact List that meets your
search criteria.

Customize the Contact List
to show contact name, company name, phone
number, title, e-mail, home phone, mobile
phone and many more combinations.

Tap on any contact and go to
that record where youl see all associated
notes, activities, histories, sales
opportunities and more.

Even use the Palm OS Global
Search to find any detail in contact
records, notes, histories, or sales
