How to Send Messages
How to send messages to your friends? Simply several steps to make it done. To
send messages:
Step 1: Click on the user you wish to contact
Step 2: Choose "Message" at that user menu
Step 3: Type the message
Step 4: Click "Send" to send the message or "Close" to cancel sending the
message

Receiving Messages
Your friends will get your messages right away if both of you are online. If
not, ICQ server will keep your messages till the recipients are online again.
That is also the way people send "ICQ Bomb" (a chain of endless messages) to
you.
More Advanced Functions for Sending Messages
So how can I view Chinese/Japanese/Korean messages? You just need to click the language button
at Send Message dialog and then you will view and type Chinese/Japanese/Korean; otherwise you
will just see "nonsense" codes inside your message box.
To save time, you can send a message to more than one user via this advanced
feature "Multiple Recipients".
Step 1: Click one of the users you wish to contact
Step 2: Choose message from the list
Step 3: Type in your message at the Message Dialog
Step 4: Click "More" at the lower corner of the message window
Step 5: Choose "Multiple Recipients" and select the additional users you wish
to send the message to at the contact list on the right
Step 6: Click "Send" to sent the message
You will hear the typing machine sounds while you are typing your message. You
can disable / enable the noise from clicking the sound button on the Send
Message dialog.
You can set the font, the font color and background of your Send Message
dialog. Then your friends will see your setting when receiving your messages.
But ICQ 98 users can just receive plain text only.
If you find the ICQ network does not work well, you can choose "Send through
Server" function at the Message confirmation box to make sure your messages
well received.
