Share ICQ Accounts at One PC

Have you come across when your family member under the same roof are rushed in front of the same PC to chat with their ICQ friends? Or if you wanna play with ICQ at your friend’s house, what can you do? 





Actually more than one ICQ number can be registered at one PC. You simply need to switch from one account to other one. Please click ICQ Menu and choose “My ICQ/Change User On This Computer/ Change The Active User”. If you are not an existing ICQ user, select “My ICQ/Change User On this Computer/Register A New User (ICQ#)” and then a popup box will be appeared. Next input your personal information and nickname. Later on an ICQ UNI will be given to you upon your registration completed. Please remember the password and the UNI. 

So you can switch one account to yours by:
Step 1: Select “My ICQ / Change User On This Computer” at function bar
Step 2: Choose “Change The Active User” 
Step 3: Pick up your own name & activate your ICQ

How to Change Personal Info.?

By clicking the ICQ Menu, you can choose “My ICQ / View / Change My Details”. So you will change your personal particulars at the popup menu. Press “Save” your info. after editing. Finally you may notify your ICQ friends for your updated info.



How to View & Update your Friends’ Info.?

Simply click your friends’ nickname, choose “User Details” at their user menu, and press “Retrieve” or "Get Details form the ICQ Directory". Then your friends’ info. will be updated. 



Accessing Function Bar 

For the version ICQ 98 or before, users can “right-click” to activate function bar. For ICQ 2003/ 5.0, users can choose either “left-“ or “right-click” for it. You can choose "Preference" at ICQ menu, then click "Miscellaneous" and deselect “Access Menu by Left Button”. Then you can “right-click” to access it directly. 







Security and Privacy

To pave safe for your ICQ account and message history , you can go to “Security & Privacy Permissions” sheet and set “High” for security level. Then only you can access your account by inputting your ICQ password.
